Each category is in a designated section and each section is sub-divided
into the following classifications:

Other Countries
Census
USA (regions, states, Washington)
For further identification, these classifications are color coded. Click here to see the color coding chart.
An explanation of the coding
system and the contents of each room are detailed here. For the Locator Key to abbreviations, click here. This collection fills three rooms, and maps of each room’s layout can be viewed here.
The printed catalog
begins with a locator key and category color coding guide and is sorted into three sections: Locator Number, Alphabetically
By Titles, and Alphabetically By Authors.
The books range from general information such as encyclopedia to specific
such as church or land records. Periodicals include major genealogical magazines plus journals from miscellaneous genealogical
societies both in-state and out-of-state as well as other countries, e.g. Sweden.
The microfilm collection consists
of census rolls, the Washington State Death Index and Birth Index.
More records such as Family Tree Maker, Social
Security Death Index, some special census, marriage records, and the United States phone index are available in CD form.
In the hanging files may be found special small booklets and papers that may include letters as well as family information.
Equipment for the use of the above material includes a copy
machine, microfiche reader, two microfilm readers, and two computers.
